Sydney Film Festival’s most popular films are hitting the road

For the 51st consecutive year since David Stratton first packed his car with film reels and toured the country for the first time, the Travelling Film Festival is hitting the road for a tour through New South Wales.

Following the highest selling Festival in its history, Sydney Film Festival is taking highlights from its June program to eight regional cinemas over the month of August. This year, the Festival is returning to Newcastle, Orange, Warrawong, Huskisson, Wagga Wagga and Tamworth, and for the first time in decades, travelling to Mount Victoria in the Blue Mountains and BCC Cinemas in Coffs Harbour.

Highlights of this year’s program include Cannes and Sydney Film Festival winner IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT, the charming THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND starring Carey Mulligan, and the heartwarming DJ AHMET, Audience Award runner-up – each of which are coming to all nine NSW centres.

Special guests for this year’s program include Toby Wilson, porridge expert and THE GOLDEN SPURTLE star, who will introduce the film and participate in an interactive Q&A in Mount Victoria and Orange. While at Coffs Harbour, Sustainable Future Award winner Jordan Giusti will introduce his superb documentary FLOODLAND.
