Synopsis
When his 16-year-old son vanishes without a trace, Daniel refuses to accept the unknown. What follows is an all-consuming search along Poland's Vistula River, where Daniel was last seen, in a custom-built boat equipped with cameras and drones, as he scans the landscape day after day. As weeks stretch into months, the search expands online, tracing fragments of his son's digital footprint for clues. In the hands of Michał Marczak, whose documentary is reminiscent of the best European dramas, this moving film becomes a singular and absorbing experience, placing us directly inside a father's obsession and grief. One of the year's standout documentaries, it is essential viewing on the big screen.
