Never After Dark

Synopsis
Airi earns her living by helping ghosts find peace and move on from where they’ve been lingering. It’s usually an easy task but nothing so simple awaits Airi when hired by property developer Mrs Teiko and her son Gunji. Something far more sinister than a stubborn spirit resides in the hotel they plan to renovate and sell at a handsome profit. Honouring the tradition of Japanese ghost stories while cleverly upending familiar tropes, this creepy supernatural tale keeps its explosive secrets well-hidden. Alongside the mystery and pulsating suspense, the film packs an emotional punch. It’s masterfully directed by Dave Boyle (House of Ninjas), and Moeka Hoshi (Shōgun) is a knockout as the above-average medium.
