Rose of Nevada
Synopsis
Award-winning, one-of-a-kind Cornish director Mark Jenkin (Bait, SFF 2019) returns with this strange seafaring story. Thirty years after vanishing off the Cornish coast, the empty but working Rose of Nevada fishing boat suddenly reappears on the harbour of a forgotten village. To support his struggling family, Nick (MacKay) joins a new crew on board, alongside drifter Liam (Turner). But when Nick and Liam return from their first voyage the year is 1993. The village is thriving and locals believe they are the original crew members. Filmed on his 16mm Bolex wind-up camera, Jenkin delivers a compelling social-realist drama and a beguiling other-worldly mystery in this time travelling cinematic adventure.
